PRODUCT CREATIVE / PRODUCTION AND HANDOFF
Does Dragging a Krea Clip Edge Reveal or Generate Footage?
A normal clip-edge drag reveals footage already trimmed away. Krea’s September 2026 Agent tutorial describes a separate Ctrl or Command end-drag for generative extension. Decide whether you need existing frames back or genuinely new action, then inspect the timeline and exported film. Several successful clip generations are not automatically a completed advertisement.
Check whether the requested ending already exists
First open the source clip and identify the useful ending. If a clean product hold was removed during editing, restoring that footage is different from asking a model to invent an additional movement. Write the intended end state before choosing an operation: recover a known frame range, prolong the same shot, or add a different planned scene.
The official Krea Agent guide distinguishes ordinary edge dragging from a modifier-key extension gesture. It also says the person operates the timeline while the agent generates clips. Do not assume that describing a desired sequence in chat has already arranged, trimmed and approved its final timeline.
Choose the operation according to the missing material
For existing trimmed material, assess an ordinary edge drag. For a new continuation, the September 18, 2026 tutorial uses Ctrl on Windows or Command on Mac while dragging the clip end, followed by Extend Video and confirmation with Add extension. Check the actual selected workflow and displayed action before submission.
If the next beat is a different camera setup or a new scene, a separate planned clip may be clearer than extending the current one. This is an editorial choice, not a claim that extension can reconstruct unseen product details. Preserve the original clip so a failed continuation does not become the only retained source.
The tutorial’s September rules require a source of at least two seconds and at least two seconds of room after the clip. Extension length is two to ten seconds; its listed models impose their own minimums: Seedance 2.5 four seconds, FLUX 3 Video five seconds, and Grok Video two seconds. These dated values are not permanent specifications for every current plan or model.
The same tutorial says an extension costs the compute credits of a video generation of that length. Record the actual model, chosen length, available trailing space and shown cost before deciding. The editor sends up to the source tail’s last fifteen seconds, at up to 1280×720, as continuation context; that does not supply authoritative unseen product detail.
| Need | Operation to assess | Evidence to inspect |
|---|---|---|
| Recover a trimmed clean hold | Reveal existing source frames | Original clip contains the required hold |
| Continue an unfinished action | Compatible generative extension | New motion and join preserve the real product |
| Switch to another planned scene | Separate clip and timeline edit | Correct scene order and transition |
Read the gesture, limits and export restrictions together in the September Krea Agent editing tutorial.
Retain Source Recovery and Generated Continuation Separately
Proposed comparison, not executed Krea editing or generation: if the desired hold already exists outside the timeline trim, identify the source interval to recover. If it truly does not exist, first check extension eligibility and cost, then review any new continuation and its join as newly generated material. A different planned scene may instead require a separate clip.
Record the actual original clip, recovered source interval or generated continuation, and final render as separate objects. Do not fill in a successful product-detail check before inspecting the resulting handle, label, motion and joins.
Verify the assembled file rather than the chat inventory
Review the selected timeline from opening to ending, including any clip audio, music and card duration that matter to the brief. Check for a repeated recovery interval, an unwanted gap or an extension that pushes the planned ending out of place. The tutorial documents rendering a single MP4 from the timeline; generation thumbnails alone do not establish that render’s contents.
Open the exported file and compare its actual sequence with the approved edit. Record the original clip, restored interval or generated continuation, and final render as separate objects. This workflow guidance is based on the documented September 2026 editor, not a software execution report or a promise that all Krea plans and models expose identical controls.
In the cited tutorial, Export renders one MP4 on Krea’s servers and saves it as <name>-export.mp4 in the session files; Download appears after completion. It explicitly says workspaces with zero data retention cannot export because rendering requires a server-side copy. Resolve that restriction within the actual authorized workflow; do not silently weaken a workspace’s retention policy to make export available.

| Original clip identity, source duration and timeline interval | |
| Needed material: trimmed source, new continuation or different scene | |
| Actual source interval recovered, if any | |
| Selected extension model, requested length and trailing space | |
| Displayed generation action and cost before submission | |
| Generated continuation identity and join observations, if performed | |

Frequently asked questions
Does ordinary edge dragging spend a generation on new frames?
The cited tutorial says a plain drag reveals trimmed footage rather than generating. Generative extension uses a separate modifier-key gesture and action.
If all my clips appear in the conversation, is the advertisement finished?
No. Review how the chosen clips are assembled on the timeline and inspect the actual exported render, including the transitions and ending.
What must I check before using generative extension?
Under the September 2026 tutorial, check source length of at least two seconds, trailing space of at least two seconds, a two-to-ten-second extension consistent with the listed model minimum, and actual generation cost. Also verify the available workflow; zero-data-retention workspaces cannot export in that documented editor.
