Product images / QUESTION GUIDE
How should AI plant imagery represent the plant a buyer will receive?
Define the shipping stage before generating a plant scene. A mature plant in a decorative pot can misrepresent a small nursery specimen, even if the species looks plausible. Use actual stock photography to establish the delivered condition and reserve aspirational imagery for a clearly identified future or styling example.
Record the delivered specimen
Start with photographs of representative current stock, the actual container and verified supplier information. Record the approximate stage using the seller’s own terminology. State whether a decorative outer pot is included. Avoid allowing a generated scene to decide leaf count, flowering state or specimen fullness for the inventory.
For a hypothetical climbing plant, a starter pot with two stems and a mature trellised display are different image subjects. Keep the order image attached to the starter stock. Do not quietly substitute the mature display because it fills the composition better.
Give each view a different promise
| View | Useful purpose | Clarification |
|---|---|---|
| Current stock | Represent shipped stage | State normal variation |
| Container detail | Identify pot supplied | Separate decorative outer pot |
| Styled room | Suggest placement | Keep specimen scale plausible |
| Mature example | Explain possible future form | Label as an example, not delivered stock |
The worksheet does not establish botanical growth predictions. Use qualified product information for species-specific claims, and do not present an AI render as evidence of expected flowering or growth speed.
Request a scene without improving the merchandise
In Product images, use the current specimen photograph and ask for an environment that leaves its shape visible. Avoid dense overlapping decorative foliage that makes it impossible to tell which leaves belong to the product. Inspect stem count, branching, visible leaves and the container against the source.
If the candidate adds flowers or removes naturally imperfect leaves, decide whether that changes the representation of stock. A photograph of a real specimen can be more appropriate than another generation. Itemlume does not provide botanical identification or growth forecasting.
Review what a buyer can infer
Show the image with the actual title and delivered-stage note at phone size. Ask a reviewer what they think arrives in the box. If they infer the large plant or decorative container, change the selection and wording. Do not rely on an attractive room context to explain a stock distinction.
Keep a seasonal review date with the reference because living inventory changes. The reference preparation guide helps organize current evidence, while revision planning helps replace obsolete imagery. Do not claim that a previously approved plant image remains representative forever.
