PRODUCT CREATIVE / PRODUCTION AND HANDOFF

Why Does My Live Product Demo Show the Old Scene While My OBS Preview Shows the New One?

Check Studio Mode before rebuilding the scene. OBS shows the editing scene on the left and the current live scene on the right. Selecting or editing a preview does not by itself make it the audience view; the documented Transition action promotes the prepared scene.

01 / WHY DOES MY LIVE PRODUCT DEMO SHOW THE OLD SCENE WHILE MY OBS PREVIEW SHOWS THE NEW ONE?

Identify the two views before diagnosing stale media

A product presentation can show a correct new layout in the editing view while its audience still sees the previously active scene. That observation is different from a source failing to refresh inside the live scene.

OBS’s Studio Mode overview describes a left editing scene and a right live scene. Transition changes which prepared scene is live. Use those roles to identify the symptom before reuploading photographs, renaming sources or repeating a browser-source refresh.

02 / WHY DOES MY LIVE PRODUCT DEMO SHOW THE OLD SCENE WHILE MY OBS PREVIEW SHOWS THE NEW ONE?

Write an intentional scene handoff

For each product segment, record which scene should be live now and which scene is being prepared next. A scene name such as “Blue bottle detail” is useful only when the operator also knows whether it is the preview or the current output.

Review the prepared composition, then use the intended transition when it is ready. Check the live view afterward. The official guide also describes quick transitions and transition duration; choose a deliberate handoff rather than assuming that clicking a scene name always broadcasts it.

Do not interpret Studio Mode as a guarantee that every source-level edit is isolated from live use. This procedure concerns scene selection and transition. Shared source dependencies and their properties require their own review before changes during a presentation.

03 / WHY DOES MY LIVE PRODUCT DEMO SHOW THE OLD SCENE WHILE MY OBS PREVIEW SHOWS THE NEW ONE?

Illustrative exercise: preview-only change or source failure

Illustrative exercise — fictional scenes, not a broadcast performed for this guide. Case A prepares a new bottle detail scene on the left while the right live view remains on a wide product shot. Case B already has the intended scene live, but its embedded offer panel still shows old information.

For A, check the composition and make the planned scene transition. The deciding evidence is which scene becomes live, not whether the source file was recently saved.

For B, a scene handoff does not establish that the offer panel refreshed. Identify the relevant media or browser source and inspect its actual content separately. Rebuilding every scene would change unrelated variables without addressing the known symptom.

04 / WHY DOES MY LIVE PRODUCT DEMO SHOW THE OLD SCENE WHILE MY OBS PREVIEW SHOWS THE NEW ONE?

Verify what the audience actually receives

Record the intended live scene, the transition used and the resulting audience-facing view. If you are validating a separate recording or stream destination, inspect that actual output rather than assuming the editing preview proves its contents.

Check the beginning and end of the handoff for the correct product and message. A visually smooth transition can still deliver the wrong SKU or an unapproved offer, so content identity belongs in the review record.

Leave live-output observations pending until the operator performs the test. This source-based guide does not connect Itemlume to OBS, operate a broadcast or certify a particular account’s recording configuration.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Does selecting a scene in Studio Mode make it live immediately?

The documented workflow prepares an editing scene and then uses Transition to make it live. Confirm which view you changed.

Should I refresh a Browser Source whenever the audience sees an old scene?

First establish whether the intended scene is actually live. A stale source inside the live scene is a different diagnosis.
