Product videos / QUESTION GUIDE

How do you combine a real demonstration with a generated product scene?

Use the real demonstration for the behavior it proves and the generated scene for atmosphere or identification. In a picture-in-picture edit, label the roles and keep the same product variant across both. Do not let the generated layer appear to be a second camera recording of the real event.

01 / HOW DO YOU COMBINE A REAL DEMONSTRATION WITH A GENERATED PRODUCT SCENE?

Assign a role to each layer

A real close-up can show a switch or closure operating while a generated room view explains context. Record which footage establishes the operation and which is illustrative. Keep the sources, permissions and exact variant with the edit plan. Avoid using private customer footage without the appropriate authorization.

For an illustrative desk lamp, the real insert may show its dimmer response. The generated background should not imply a measured light output or a synchronized live event. A shared color palette does not make two separately produced layers documentary evidence.

02 / HOW DO YOU COMBINE A REAL DEMONSTRATION WITH A GENERATED PRODUCT SCENE?

Create a layer contract

LayerPurposeCheck
Real close-upShow actual operationSource and variant verified
Generated sceneExplain settingIdentify as illustrative where useful
CaptionState observed actionDo not broaden the claim
TransitionGuide attentionNo false synchronized event

Use distinct framing or a short plain label when the origin might be misunderstood. Keep the explanatory distinction readable rather than hiding it in a long closing disclaimer.

03 / HOW DO YOU COMBINE A REAL DEMONSTRATION WITH A GENERATED PRODUCT SCENE?

Create only the needed contextual shot

In Product videos, begin with an approved source frame and a restrained scene plan. Generate the contextual clip separately, then assemble the layers in an external editor. Itemlume does not currently create a synchronized documentary picture-in-picture composition or verify the real footage’s claims.

Review whether the generated product’s controls and state match the real insert. A lamp shown switched off in one layer while the real footage demonstrates it illuminated may need explanation or a different scene.

04 / HOW DO YOU COMBINE A REAL DEMONSTRATION WITH A GENERATED PRODUCT SCENE?

Watch the attention handoff

At phone size, viewers should be able to see the real operation when it is discussed. Do not cover the evidence with a logo, caption or decorative frame. Review the final mix and the origin explanation at normal playback speed. A correct source can become unintelligible in a tiny insert.

Use source mixing for the broader edit and visible feature evidence for the claim. Retain the layer contract with the exported file so future crops preserve the distinction.
