PRODUCT VIDEO STORYBOARD

Give each second one job before generating a product video.

A product video storyboard specifies what the viewer sees, what changes over time, and which message the shot supports. For image-to-video generation, start from an approved product composition and limit the action to what that reference can support. Plan captions, sound, and any additional shots as separate editing work.

01 / PRODUCT VIDEO STORYBOARD

Write the message before choosing the movement

Complete this sentence: “After watching, the viewer should understand _____.” Choose a visible fact, such as the shape of a bottle, the texture already shown in a bag photograph, or how the packaging fits a gift concept. If the message depends on a product working, record the real demonstration rather than use a generated action as evidence.

TikTok’s Creative Codes describes an opening hook, a body, and a close. Use that as an editorial structure, not a demand for three cuts inside every short clip. A clear opening composition, a small movement, and a stable final view can serve those roles in one shot.

Write three separate instructions: the product fact that must stay true, the movement you want, and the copy you will add later. That makes it easier to diagnose whether a failed result needs a better reference, a simpler movement, or only a text edit.

Build a timed brief around one visible action

Example eight-second shot plan, to adapt and review
TimeVisual jobMovementReview question
0–2 secondsIdentify the actual productStart on the approved composition; keep the label visibleCan a new viewer recognize the item immediately?
2–6 secondsDirect attention to an existing detailOne slow, small camera push; product remains stationaryDo the label, silhouette, and reflections remain stable?
6–8 secondsLeave a readable endingSettle into a steady view with space for later copyCan the editor place a clear next step without covering the item?

The timing is a planning example, not a guarantee that the model will hit exact edit points. The shorter the shot, the smaller the request should be. A reveal, full rotation, liquid pour, model gesture, and end card are several separate actions; asking for all of them together makes review and correction harder.

A reference showing only the front of a product does not establish the details on its back. If a rotation would expose unseen packaging, choose a limited camera move or obtain another real source image.

Turn the storyboard into a reviewable video prompt

Eight-second prompt example · no output result claimed

Begin from the approved reference image. Keep the single product standing on the same surface, with its complete front label visible. Hold the opening composition briefly, then make one slow, shallow push toward the product. Keep the light direction, surface, product proportions, label, color, and item count stable. Do not turn the product, open it, add hands, or reveal unseen packaging. Let the camera settle before the end. Keep the upper part of the frame quiet for a caption added during editing; generate no lettering.

To draft your own single shot, open the free photo and video brief builder, choose Product video, set a whole duration of 4–15 seconds, and select one camera action. Describe the details your approved first frame must retain, then review and copy the text. The builder uses local rules, needs no login or credits, and does not generate video. It plans one shot; it does not add sound or assemble several clips.

In Itemlume, supply the approved first frame and your brief, review the drafted plan, and check the generation quote before submitting. The prompt guide explains how to make product constraints specific. Instructions guide the model; they do not prevent every visual change.

If a person appears, first approve the model-and-product image. Video begins from that composition; the current video request does not send separate product and identity references. Avoid treating a fictional presenter as a real customer or attaching invented personal experience to the scene.

Choose a duration for the visual task and budget

Itemlume accepts integer durations from 4 to 15 seconds. At the current 720p rate of 8 credits per second, a five-second generation uses 40 credits, an eight-second generation uses 64, and a fifteen-second generation uses 120. The first-frame image and an AI-assisted planning request are separate operations. Check current credits and availability before submission.

Use a shorter clip for a single product detail or restrained camera move. Give a longer shot a reason to exist, such as a slow approach that ends on a readable composition. More seconds are not evidence of better product accuracy or a better ad. A new attempt uses a new quote even when the prompt changes only slightly.

Keep the creative decision and the financial record separate: record the submitted duration, quoted credits, output status, and acceptance reason. Rejecting a technically completed result for visual reasons is not the same as a confirmed generation failure.

Assemble a finished ad outside the generation step

  1. Inspect the entire clip.Watch from start to finish, then pause where hands, labels, reflections, or edges move. A good first frame does not establish quality for the whole clip.
  2. Select a stable segment.Trim an unusable opening or ending in an external editor only if the remaining segment still communicates the message.
  3. Add communication layers.Add licensed audio, voiceover, exact captions, disclosures, and an end card with separate editing tools. Itemlume’s generated clip is silent.
  4. Join additional shots if needed.Generate or film each required shot, approve it separately, and assemble the sequence outside Itemlume. Check continuity in product, light, wardrobe, and scale.
  5. Preview the destination.Check the placement’s current requirements, cropping, interface overlays, and readability before publishing.

Save the approved source, prompt, clip, and final edited asset under related IDs. That record lets you reuse a useful shot without confusing it with the version that included a particular offer or audio track. For a larger promotion, connect the asset to the holiday creative planner.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Does a storyboard automatically generate multiple clips?

No. A storyboard is a plan. The current video workflow creates a clip from one approved first frame. Generate or film additional shots separately and assemble them in an external editor.

Can Itemlume generate voiceover or lip-sync for my product video?

The current integration requests silent video and does not provide generated voiceover or a lip-sync workflow. Add any permitted sound and dialogue separately, and review the final edit.

Can I generate a complete 30-second ad in one request?

No. The current request supports 4–15 integer seconds. A longer finished ad needs separate approved clips or recorded footage and external editing.

What should I change when the product warps during movement?

Reduce the movement, avoid revealing unseen surfaces, and check whether the first frame clearly shows the required details. Review a new result in full; a narrower prompt can reduce the difficulty but cannot guarantee product fidelity.
