DECISION GUIDE / Logo studio
How do I explain manufacturer and support roles in a co-branded product campaign?
Two logos on a product do not establish which company manufactures it, sells the set, or handles customer support. Before publishing a co-branded campaign, confirm each participant's actual role and the approved customer contact route. Build a responsibility card that distinguishes design contribution, manufacturing, selling, and after-sales handling without treating visual logo prominence as proof of responsibility.
Identify the real product and seller relationship
A co-branded package can combine several companies' contributions. One may design a sleeve, another manufacture the main product, and a third sell the finished set. Buyers need to know who is responsible for the relevant transaction and where to request help.
Fictional exercise: Brand A designs a decorative sleeve, Company B manufactures a bottle, and Store C sells the combined set. These roles are invented for editorial practice; no contract or customer-support allocation has been verified.
Unlike approving a two-logo lockup, this task defines buyer-facing responsibilities independently of logo size, visual order, or decorative prominence.
Create a product responsibility role card
Ask each participating organization to confirm its actual contribution and the wording it approves. Identify the seller of record and the verified support contact separately from design and manufacturing credits.
Do not assign warranty, return, or repair responsibilities based on which logo appears largest. Those obligations require the applicable business records and responsible-party review.
| Customer question | Fictional party | Evidence required | Publishing decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who designed the sleeve? | Brand A | Approved contribution record | Confirm credit |
| Who manufactured the bottle? | Company B | Actual manufacturing record | Confirm wording |
| Who sells the set? | Store C | Current selling arrangement | Confirm seller identity |
| Who handles support? | Not established | Approved contact and responsibility record | Hold contact claim |
Write buyer-facing roles without implying extra obligations
A possible internal description is: 'Sleeve designed by A; bottle manufactured by B; set offered by C.' Publish it only after the relevant parties approve the actual wording and product scope.
Avoid phrases such as 'fully backed by all three brands' unless the exact promised responsibilities are established. A collaborative campaign does not automatically mean every participant handles returns, repairs, or customer complaints.

- List every organization appearing in the campaign.
- Identify the exact contribution associated with each name.
- Confirm the seller and actual customer-support route.
- Separate production credits from service obligations.
- Obtain approved wording from the responsible parties.
- Check the final image and purchase destination together.
Test the customer's support route
Review the final campaign as a buyer. If the bottle arrives damaged or the sleeve is incorrect, can the customer identify the appropriate first contact? Do not invent a support address merely to complete the design.
Keep the role card with approved names, customer-facing wording, contact details, responsible reviewers, and affected product versions. A new seller or revised collaboration may require a new responsibility review.
Itemlume does not assign contractual duties, verify support contacts, or synchronize store information. Those checks and the final publication remain manual external tasks.

Frequently asked questions
Does the largest logo identify the manufacturer or support provider?
No. Logo prominence is a design choice, not reliable evidence of production or service responsibility.
Can all partners be listed as responsible for after-sales service?
Only if the actual arrangements support that statement and the responsible parties approve it. Do not invent shared obligations.
