Virtual try-on / FIELD GUIDE
Can an AI fashion image tell you how to wash the garment?
Use the approved care instructions as the writing source. A generated image can depict texture and styling, but it cannot establish fiber composition, wash temperature or whether a finish survives cleaning. Keep care copy separate from the visual impression.
Collect the actual instruction source
For an illustrative jacket, obtain a readable photograph of the current care label and the product owner’s approved text. Verify that the label belongs to the exact revision and market. A visually similar older jacket may use different fabric or treatment, so its instructions are not a safe substitute.
Do not ask the writer to complete unreadable symbols from general knowledge about the apparent material. Mark the uncertain instruction and obtain a better source. A convincing generated close-up does not recover the missing label accurately.
Make a care-copy record
| Field | Source | Review |
|---|---|---|
| Fiber wording | Approved product record | Exact garment version |
| Care instruction | Readable approved label | No guessed symbol |
| Market language | Authorized translation | Same underlying instruction |
| Unclear field | Question for product owner | Omit until resolved |
The table is an evidence handoff, not garment-care advice. Follow the real manufacturer’s approved instructions and relevant destination requirements.
Keep imagery from implying a different instruction
A campaign scene can show an activity that contradicts the approved care boundary, such as a garment placed in a hot wash setting. Review those visual implications too. Use Product images or garment imagery for presentation while keeping factual instructions in native text.
Approve the listing combination
Read the image, material description and care section together. Make the care text available without requiring a shopper to decode a tiny generated label. Use care information planning and material appearance review for adjacent checks.
An unresolved care field
A fictional jacket reference shows a blurred care label while the garment appears wool-like in the campaign image. Mark fiber and wash instructions as unresolved rather than drafting a plausible wool-care paragraph. Obtain the readable current label or approved product record. Then review the final native care text alongside the imagery. If the scene suggests a treatment contrary to the approved instruction, revise the scene too. This closes the source question without treating generated appearance as a substitute for actual care information.
