Image remix / QUESTION GUIDE
How do you adapt a pedestal ad when your product cannot stand the same way?
Choose a physically documented resting state before copying a pedestal composition. A rounded pouch, uneven tool or narrow bottle may not stand like the reference product. Keep the attractive elevation idea only if the new product can rest plausibly on a real support, or clearly identify the image as a stylized concept.
Inspect how the real item rests
Photograph the product on an ordinary surface and note its base, center-facing orientation and required support. A hidden stand can be part of a photographic setup, but do not let its removal change how the item is represented. If the reference shows a product balanced on a point, decide whether you need literal realism or an openly stylized scene.
For a hypothetical curved grooming tool, the handle may prevent it from lying flat on a cube. Obtain a side view that shows the actual contact. The correct support can require a different camera angle from the reference.
Write the support relationship
| New product | Reference treatment | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Flat-base jar | Standing on block | Inspect base contact |
| Rounded pouch | Standing unsupported | Use documented gusset or lean |
| Curved tool | Balanced on tip | Lay on a suitable support |
| Soft garment | Rigid upright slab | Choose fold or mannequin evidence |
The worksheet does not calculate stability. It identifies where a reviewer needs a real photograph or physical check instead of an aesthetically convincing guess.
Request the supported version
In Image remix, describe the actual resting state and the desired pedestal material separately. Provide an authoritative view that shows the base. Do not ask the system to invent a flat underside just to fit the reference. Review the silhouette first, then the small region where product and support meet.
A shadow can make an unsupported object seem grounded. Follow the visible contact, including any overhang or lean. If the scene needs suspension or levitation, make that a deliberate visual concept rather than presenting it as an ordinary studio photograph.
Select realism or stylization explicitly
Keep the choice in the campaign brief. An identification image should help the buyer recognize the actual construction; an abstract brand concept can have another role. Do not reuse the abstract image as a technical demonstration of the product’s resting or mounting ability.
The contact-shadow guide reviews lighting after support is established, and mounting evidence covers installed products. End with a support note, not merely a preference for the most dramatic candidate.

Frequently asked questions
Does a convincing shadow prove support?
No. Inspect the actual product-to-surface relationship.
Can I use a floating concept?
Yes, as deliberate stylization rather than proof of ordinary physical behavior.
Can the base be changed to fit the layout?
Do not change the merchandise construction in a factual product image.
