Image remix / SCENARIO GUIDE
Why does a replaced product look pasted into the ad?
Check contact, camera angle and light direction before adding detail. A replaced product often looks pasted in because its relationship with the scene is wrong, not because its texture lacks sharpness. Fix one relationship at a time and preserve the authoritative product reference.
Locate the break between item and scene
Inspect the base of the item first. A bottle on stone needs a believable contact area; a pouch against a wall needs an understandable support. A missing shadow can make it float, while a shadow that points toward the light can make the whole image feel inconsistent.
Next compare the apparent camera angle. A front-facing product in a steep overhead setting may be impossible even if both parts look realistic individually. Use a compatible source angle or allow the reference layout to change. More background detail cannot resolve contradictory perspective.
Name the failure precisely
| Visible failure | Likely relationship to review | Useful revision |
|---|---|---|
| Floating base | Support and contact shadow | Simpler flat surface, visible base |
| Cutout appearance | Light direction and edge contrast | One consistent light family |
| Prop passes through product | Occlusion and separation | Move the prop away from the boundary |
| Wrong reflected object | Reflection continuity | Remove the reflective support |
| Compressed container | Viewpoint and proportions | Change composition, preserve geometry |
These are visual diagnoses, not claims about the provider’s internal processing. A symptom can have several causes. Compare against the source and keep the revision small enough to judge its effect.
Revise in a deliberate order
- Confirm the product itself is still the correct variant.
- Remove unnecessary overlapping props and difficult reflective surfaces.
- State the intended support, viewpoint and light direction in the additional requirements.
- Create a new remix, then inspect the same boundary that failed previously.
If the reference asks a large item to fit behind a small foreground prop, change the arrangement. Do not keep generating until one distorted item happens to look integrated. Use a simpler composition to establish the product, then bring back only the props that contribute a specific idea.
Review more than the thumbnail
At full size, examine the label edge, object intersections and shadow origin. At the destination size, judge whether the product remains the focal point. A tiny edge defect may be irrelevant in a small social asset, but an extra part or impossible support can misrepresent the sale item at any size.
Record the failing boundary and the revision used. If contact remains unreliable, retain a simpler product photograph or use an appropriate manual composition workflow outside Itemlume. The current Image remix interface should not be described as a pixel-locked layer compositor or an automatic defect repair guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
Will a higher-resolution request fix a floating product?
Not necessarily. Contact and perspective are composition problems, so review those relationships first.
Can I correct an existing output inside Image remix without regenerating?
The current workflow creates a new request from references and requirements. Do not assume a dedicated local retouch brush is available.
Which defect should I prioritize?
First correct product identity and geometry, then support and interaction, then decorative surface details.
