PRODUCT CREATIVE / PRODUCTION AND HANDOFF
Why does my 3x3 Spaces variation sheet not arrive downstream as nine separate product shots?
Nine panels in a preview do not establish nine independent downstream image objects. Magnific Spaces provides Split Output for routing variations separately. Decide whether the sheet is for choosing art direction or developing individual shots, then confirm the actual output structure and each candidate’s identity before video production.
1. Separate a concept sheet from independent production assets
Illustrative exercise: the coffee-maker grid and four-panel pilot are proposed checks. No Spaces node, generation, credit, export or routing test was performed.
Imagine nine proposed shots for a coffee-maker advertisement: a countertop hero view, a close-up of the controls, a pouring scene, and six alternative compositions. A single grid is useful for comparing art direction. But a downstream video workflow needs identifiable source images if individual concepts will receive separate motion treatments.
Magnific Spaces documents Variations grid choices of 2×2, 3×3, and 4×4. It also documents Split Output, which enables individual variations to be used independently in downstream nodes. The number of visible panels alone should not be treated as proof of separate downstream outputs.
Before connecting another node, decide whether the deliverable is a comparison board or a collection of individually addressable assets. This prevents a visually convincing contact sheet from being mistaken for an approved multi-shot production package.
2. Choose the output structure from the merchant's next action
Branch A — Art-direction comparison: The merchant wants stakeholders to choose one preferred coffee-maker presentation. Keep the composite grid as a review artifact. Record panel positions and collect a selection decision before commissioning downstream production. There is no requirement to process every candidate separately.
Branch B — Independent shot development: The merchant needs four distinct storyboard candidates, each routed to a different downstream treatment. Begin with a representative 2×2 pilot and enable Split Output. Assign each candidate a panel position, shot purpose, product-reference identifier, and intended destination. This branch requires individually traceable outputs rather than a single comparison sheet.
For Storyboard mode, provide the required prompt. An Angles variation describes alternative views; it does not automatically create chronological storytelling. Even Storyboard outputs remain candidate images until sequence order, visual continuity, and product accuracy have been reviewed.
3. Prepare a controlled routing exercise
In the Variations node, identify the intended source image, choose the relevant variation mode, and select the grid size. Decide whether Split Output should be enabled before requesting a generation. Check the actual interface for availability and expected credit implications first; the feature is described as gradually rolling out.
For the four-panel pilot, assign stable review labels such as R1C1 through R2C2. Create a routing plan showing which output should feed which downstream task. After an authorized run, the proposed test would inspect the actual number of available outputs and verify each downstream connection against the panel map.
Do not infer that every model, resolution, or configuration produces identical output behavior. Nor should a grid selection be converted into a universal cost formula. The worksheet specifies what evidence would be needed, not what any unperformed run produced.
4. Approve individual shots rather than approving the grid wholesale
The suggested 2×2 pilot is only a small review exercise, not a Split Output limit. If nine independent candidates are required, evaluate a 3×3 layout and inspect the actual separated outputs. Confirm the receiving Input Image connection rather than passing the complete sheet where one image is expected.
A four-panel storyboard can contain three usable ideas and one incorrect product depiction. The merchant should be able to reject that panel without silently approving the complete set. Review the visible product controls, labels, materials, and intended shot role against the actual product reference.
Then inspect sequence relationships separately. Nine panels do not guarantee nine usable commercial shots, consistent product geometry, coherent action, or smooth transitions. The sheet may offer directions for a TV commercial, but it is not itself an approved timeline.
If preparing assets manually for an Itemlume-related creative workflow, treat the selected images as independently reviewed source materials, not as evidence of a direct Spaces integration. Maintain a record linking each approved image to its proposed shot and subsequent production step. No final shot count, visual quality, or successful downstream routing is claimed here.
Variation Grid Output and Shot-Routing Decision
These are illustrative exercise rows. Save a copy and record your own observations; the example is not an executed acceptance test.
| Branch | Merchant objective | Grid and output strategy | Candidate identity | Proposed downstream check | Approval rule |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A — Art-direction selection | Compare nine coffee-maker advertising concepts | 3x3 composite review sheet; no independent routing required | Panel R1C1 through R3C3, with one selected concept | Confirm the chosen panel is documented before preparing a production asset | Approve only the selected concept; illustrative exercise |
| B — Independent shot production | Develop four reviewed storyboard candidates separately | 2x2 pilot with Split Output enabled | Four panel IDs, each with shot role, product reference, and intended destination | Inspect actual independent outputs and map each connection to the intended panel | Approve or reject each shot separately; illustrative exercise |

Frequently asked questions
Does choosing a 3x3 grid automatically give downstream nodes nine separate images?
Do not assume so from the preview. The documented Split Output option is intended for using variations independently downstream. Confirm the actual output structure and connection mapping in the available Spaces interface.
If all nine panels look attractive, can I approve them as a complete product video storyboard?
Not without additional review. Evaluate each panel for product accuracy and shot purpose, then assess ordering, continuity, and transitions. A visually coherent grid does not establish an executable or approved video sequence.
