REFERENCE TROUBLESHOOTING / Product images
How do I show vacuum-packed food without AI puffing up the package?
Keep the sealed vacuum-packed state separate from an unpacked serving view. Photograph how the film conforms to the actual contents, including folds and the seal. A smooth inflated pouch may look cleaner but can misrepresent the packaging and hide the real shape of the sale item.
Identify what the reference actually proves
A tight transparent film has wrinkles, highlights and irregular contact with the contents. A generator may simplify it into a pillow pouch or interpret the film’s ridges as part of the food. Meanwhile, a serving reference shows the product after opening and cannot establish the sealed package geometry. The useful distinction is between package condition and food presentation, not simply before and after image quality.
Prepare the evidence before generating
- Photograph an actual sealed unit in a representative acceptable condition. Keep the seal, label and visible conforming film in view.
- Add a detail showing where the film touches the contents and where folds leave small air spaces. Do not select an abnormal pack as the standard reference.
- If a serving view is needed, photograph a separate opened example and label its role in the private brief. Do not ask AI to infer the entire interior from distorted film.
- Generate the sealed view first, preserving its compact geometry. Create the serving scene as a separate image with its own references and review.
Example creative request and a review matrix
Illustrative request: Create a clean product image of this sealed vacuum pack. Preserve the compact film-conforming shape, seal position, actual label and visible folds. Do not inflate the film into a pillow bag, erase the vacuum-packed state or redraw film highlights as food texture. The opened serving reference is context only and should not replace the sealed sale unit.
| Observed symptom | Evidence to inspect | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| The package becomes a smooth inflated cushion | Compare the film-to-content contact | Reject the changed pack state |
| Film folds become stripes on the food | Check the layer relationship in the detail reference | Separate wrapper from contents |
| A serving arrangement appears inside the sealed pack | Compare the complete sealed source | Keep serving and package views separate |
Make the release decision
Do not use this visual check to diagnose food safety or package integrity. Those are responsibilities for the seller and appropriate quality procedures. If the actual unit appears abnormal, resolve that before marketing it rather than using AI to conceal the condition. The approved gallery should make it easy to identify what arrives sealed and what is merely a suggested presentation after opening.

Frequently asked questions
Can I smooth out all film wrinkles for a cleaner hero image?
Only if the result still represents the actual packaging. Erasing the conforming structure until the pack appears inflated changes the depicted state rather than merely cleaning the background.
